REQUIREMENT: ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED AGAINST THE COVID-19 VACCINE. The Arlington Community Chorus is a non-audition ensemble, where we create community together through the fun, joy and beauty of collective song. All voice parts are needed and welcomed: Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass. Our wonderful Spring Program for 2022 is titled "Silver Rain" and includes songs in a variety of musical genres about rain, rainbows, spring, renewal and hope. In rehearsals we will build singing skills (tone, breath support, resonance,) work on blending with others, learn beautiful harmonies, have fun, and make friends! Pre-Requisite: Previous singing experience preferred, such as high school, college, or church choir, or voice lessons. Limit: 40 singers. COVID-19 Vaccine required.

Cynthia Young is thrilled to be the Director of The Arlington Community Chorus! Motivated by a passionate belief in the power of collective singing to build community and create joy, Cynthia has founded and directed community choirs around the world, including in Burkina Faso, South Africa, Gabon, Turkey and Virginia. Cynthia believes that choral singing is one of the most fun, healthy, and life-affirming activities there is for all ages, and she loves to bring people together to sing in harmony. Cynthia is a private voice and piano teacher, and is the music director at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Reston. She holds of master of arts degree in music from The American University and a bachelor of arts degree in music from Wake Forest University.
